About the Mid-Western Educational Researcher

The Mid-Western Educational Researcher is a peer-reviewed open access scholarly journal that publishes qualitative and quantitative research articles examining educational issues and practices, book and media reviews, commentaries, and other work that addresses areas such as mentorship and teacher research. The MWER (ISSN 1056-3887) is published quarterly by the Mid-Western Educational Research Association through Western Illinois University. It began publication in 1988 and moved to an online format in 2012.

MWER seeks strong manuscripts addressing diverse issues in education. The journal does not subscribe to any particular methodology, and publishes quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods, and meta-analysis studies, along with theoretical pieces, graduate student inquiry, book and media reviews, commentaries, teacher research, policy briefs, mentoring essays, and other related work. We also entertain proposals for special issues and special sections of an issue.

Submitting to MWER
If you are interested in submitting a manuscript, suggesting a special section or issue of the journal, serving as a reviewer, encouraging a graduate student searching for an outlet for their work, or simply have suggestions or other feedback, we hope you will be in touch. We are interested in hearing from higher education faculty and graduate students, but also K-12 teachers and administrators, policymakers, and other educational stakeholders. Please contact us at MWER1316@gmail.com. We look forward to hearing from you.
